The Intelligent Vehicle Research and Development Center hosted the International Symposium on Rescue Vehicles and Robots on March 23, in collaboration with Tohoku University 🇯🇵and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology🇹🇼. Experts from academia and industry 🤝gathered to explore the latest developments in intelligent vehicles and rescue robotics for extreme environments.
Key topics included amphibious vehicles, drone technologies, autonomous navigation, nuclear disaster response, and electric rescue vehicles, highlighting interdisciplinary innovation and integration.
Through international exchange and industry–academia collaboration, the symposium contributes to advancing smart disaster-response technologies and strengthening public safety and infrastructure resilience.
In addition, the Disaster Science International Research Institute (Tough Cyberphysical AI Research Center) of Tohoku University and the Intelligent Vehicle Research and Development Center of Ming Chi University of Technology officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the same day🤝. This partnership marks a new phase of collaboration in smart disaster-response technologies, AI applications, and vehicle system development. Future initiatives will include talent exchange, joint research projects, and technology development to further enhance disaster response capabilities and public safety resilience.  Smart Mobility Rescue Robotics Symposium AI Disaster Response
