From November 3 to 7, 2025, Director Cheng, Jung-Ho of the Intelligent Vehicle Center at Ming Chi University of Technology, led a delegation of two engineers to Sendai, Japan, in collaboration with Professors Hirohito Kobayashi and Wen Zhen-ting from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, to visit two key research units at Tohoku University. The team first visited Professor Yasuhisa Hirata’s Robotics Laboratory to learn about the progress of his long-term care robot research and development. The following day, they visited the Resilient Smart Cybersecurity Research Center led by Professor Satoshi Tadokoro and presented a briefing on the Smart Vehicle Center’s recent achievements. Professor Tadokoro highly commended the Center’s R&D capabilities, and both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding potential areas of collaboration, such as disaster relief vehicles, batteries for extreme environments, and energy systems. Additionally, the two sides plan to conduct a return visit in March 2026 to sign a cooperation agreement and jointly host an international symposium on disaster prevention vehicles to promote long-term and in-depth research collaboration.
