1 What is a vehicle? A vehicle refers to a means of transportation or equipment used to carry people, goods, or specific functional systems.
     
2 智慧載具是什麼?What is a smart vehicle? A smart vehicle is a vehicle equipped with advanced technologies, such as sensors, embedded systems, and computer-controlled functions, to enhance safety, efficiency, and convenience.
     
3 What are the main R&D areas of the IVRDC? (1) Electrification development for a full range of commercial vehicles and the establishment of dynamometers for chassis testing and verification;
(2) Development and application of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS);
(3) Application of 5G technology in V2X communication and fleet management.
     
4 What research equipment does the IVRDC have? The Center is equipped with an AVL 4WD E-axle test system, AVL RoadSim 72" MIM 4X4 Truck, electric vehicle charging equipment, dSPACE SCALEXIO real-time HiL simulator system, ANSYS simulation software, Simcenter Amesim system engineering software, NX computer-aided design software, and Teamcenter PLM system.
     
5 What is the size of the IVRDC R&D team? The IVRDC R&D team consists of core faculty researchers, 2 consultants, 10 R&D engineers, and 27 engineers from its collaborative partner, LSC Co., Ltd.
     
6 Which companies or institutions does the IVRDC cooperate with? The Center’s main industrial partner is Formosa Plastics Transport Co., Ltd. It also collaborates with the NTU Advanced Power Research Center, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC), LSC Co., Ltd., and other partner organizations.
     
7 Have IVRDC’s smart vehicle products been commercialized? IVRDC’s R&D projects have not yet been commercialized. Commercial application remains one of the Center’s future development goals.
     
8 Does IVRDC offer work-study or internship opportunities? IVRDC offers approximately 2 to 3 work-study or internship positions each year.
     
9 What smart vehicle products are currently being developed by the IVRDC? IVRDC is currently focused on developing 2.5-ton commercial smart electric trucks, with future development extending toward 3.5-ton, 5-ton, 12-ton, and 18.5-ton heavy-duty vehicles.
